Hello there. I'm Charlotte, though everyone knows me as Charley. I'm a Lecturer in Cultural Studies, with a specialist interest in True Crime and Crime fiction narratives. In this area, I have worked in a formal academic capacity, which resulted in my debut academic monograph, Deconstructing True Crime Literature, being published in 2023. However, I also utilise practice-based research skills to explore representations of female violence in contemporary crime writing, which has resulted in my publishing over ten psychological thrillers to date, with an additional two forthcoming. I am also a poet, editor, and I am one of three Directors of Black Pear Press, a small publishing house based in Worcestershire.
