Home - with Amnesty International

In early 2020, I teamed up with Ade Couper - a fellow poet, and representative for Amnesty Worcester - to orchestrate a poetry competition. We asked for entries written to the theme of 'Home'. Although, given the COVID-19 situation the world over, we soon realised this word might have a change of meaning for many people - and not just the refugees, who we hoped this theme would honour.
We were delighted by the amount and standard of entries, and we found ourselves hard-pushed to narrow it down to three winners when the time came. Nevertheless, we persisted, and we're delighted to announce the winning entries from this competition are:
Ade and I would like to extend our thanks to everyone who submitted work to this competition. We were blown away by the words people shared, and we're thankful for the support in this endeavour. All monies raised from submissions will go to Amnesty Worcester, to continue the important for they do for the Amnesty International cause.
